Wholly Holy (I Peter 1:Passage Study)

Here is a quick study tool, devotional, or just plain passage breakdown for you to use however you like. My wife and I are leading up a 20-30's group this coming Sunday night.  The evening's study is based around "expositional conversation" over a passage and topic. This is the just slightly formatted text of the hand-out. "Cut and Paste" however it works best for you. Hope it helps in some way or saves you a couple minutes of preparation time?

WHOLLY HOLY?
(I PETER 1)

13. Therefore, with minds (Col. 3:2, Rom. 12:2) that are alert (I Peter.4:7, 5: 8) and fully sober, (Rom. 12:3, I Thess. 5:5-7) set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming.
* Holiness in THINKING, AWARENESS, READINESS
Consider: Is holiness more about resisting temptation or removing temptation?
Consider: Is holiness more about knowing or doing?

14 As obedient children (I John 1:2) do not conform to the evil desires (Rom. 12:1 ) you had when you lived in ignorance. (Eph. 4:17-19)

* Holiness in OBEDIENCE, DESIRES, CHANGED LIFE
Consider: Is holiness more about personal victory or Godly obedience?

15 But just as he who called (Gal. 5:13) you is holy, so be holy in all you do; 16 for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.” (Lev. 11:45, 19:2)

* Holiness in CALLING, GODLINESS, UNDERSTANDING
* Consider: Is holiness more about conformity to other or conformity to God?

17 Since you call on a Father who judges each person’s work impartially, live out your time as foreigners (I Pet. 2:11-12) here in reverent fear. (Prov. 9:10) 18 For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold (Matt. 6:20-21) that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. 20 He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. 21 Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God.

  * Holiness in LIVING, SEPERATION, FEAR, PRIORITY
Consider: Is holiness more living for reward or in response?

22 Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth (John 8:32)  so that you have sincere love for each other, love one another deeply, from the heart. (Luke 10:27)23 For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. 24 For, “All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; he grass withers and the flowers fall, 25 but the word of the Lord endures forever.” (Matt. 8:15) And this is the word that was preached to you. (Rom. 10:14)

Holiness in COMMUNITY, LOVE, TRUTH/”THE WORD OF GOD”
Consider: Is holiness only about personal life or is also about community life?
Consider: The “Ecclesia” (Gr)- “called out” “set apart assembly”
